About Maple and how her answers are checked

Maple is an AI character, not a person or a licensed pool technician. Here is how her answers are made and checked.

Who Maple is

Maple is a drawn AI character who fronts Ask Maple's answers. She is not a person, she has no pool of her own, and she holds no qualifications. Her "tips" are general advice drawn from the same sources as the rest of the page.

Where the answers come from

  • Guidance ranges and minimums for chlorine, pH and stabiliser come from state health department guidance, mainly HealthyWA (the WA Department of Health), linked on every page with the date read.
  • Doses are plain arithmetic for the product strength you enter: 1 mg/L is 1 gram per 1,000 litres. We show the sum every time.
  • Equipment and costs come from makers' published information and named Australian cost guides, dated.

Corrections

Each guide names its source and check date so you can compare the advice with the health authority or manufacturer. Product instructions and the requirements for your own pool take priority over a general guide.

Disclaimer

General information only. When something needs a licensed person (wiring, gas, plumbing) or a pool technician, the guides say so; never rely on a calculator to decide water is safe to swim in. Ask Maple sells no products, takes no payment from product makers, and is not connected with any pool shop that has traded under a similar name.
